New Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

In case you haven’t noticed, I love Makeup Geek…

I love Makeup Geek so much, that whenever I type in the letter “M” into my browser, Makeup Geek is the first suggestion that comes up.20150913_153452

I have a serious problem.

They have probably the most pigmented, blendable formulation that I’ve ever come across in any eyeshadow (excluding some Anastasia shadows).

Chickadee: I know that it may look a little scary in the pan, but I strongly believe that a soft-yellow/orange eyeshadow is essential to any makeup lovers kit.  I love this shade as a transition shade for when I use warmer colours.

20150913_153421Cosmopolitan: A gorgeous pink with gold shimmers throughout.  This is an almost identical dupe to Mac’s Expensive Pink.

Duchess: a deep blue-toned purple with the slightest hint of silver shimmer, however, not enough to not be used in the crease.  This is a great alternative to using a brown in the crease whist wearing a purple smokey eye.

Whimsical: is one of MUG’s most popular foiled eyeshadows, and that’s for a very good reason. Whimsical is a frosty, metallic pale pink colour, perfect as a highlight or as just an all over lid shade.

Sensuous: is a purple shade with pink undertones and gold shimmers.  This is almost an exact dupe for Mac’s Trax, an awesome shade for a really quick and easy smokey eye.

Cool toned smokey eye

So I was under the impression that I had sales training tonight for the new job I’ve only just recently started.  So I spent 45 minutes getting ready and making myself presentable (I even did my eyeliner), took the train into the city, gave money to a20150715_212435 homeless man and then finally arrived at my work.  However, it was only then that I was told that the training had been cancelled and that an email had been sent out about it but because I was new… I wasn’t even in the email list.

I’m not going to lie, I was a little annoyed, but it was an honest mistake that they’d forgotten to tell me, but the young lady that greeted me at my work (who I’d never met before) was really rude to me and wouldn’t even let me into the store…

It’s very odd because everyone else that I have worked with have been absolutely amazing!

20150715_212426Anyway, one good thing that I got out of wasting $1.80 in order to get into the city, was that I got to rock my favourite Mac shadow, Satin Taupe.

Satin taupe is probably the most versatile shimmery shadow that I own, it is also the first Mac shadow that I ever purchased.  I love it because it looks good on EVERYONE and it can be used in such a wide range of looks.  It looks great packed on all over the lid and under the eye, smudged just on the lash line or even just in the outer corners to deepen up a look.

Autumn inspired smokey eye

It’s been so cold in Melbourne recently, so I really wanted my eye makeup to reflect our beautiful autumn weather. I created a burgundy smokey eye, smoked out with warm toned browns (all Makeup Geek shadows), paired with some shimmer on the lid.
